What Is?
Lutheran Campus Ministry?
Lutheran Campus Ministry is a recognized ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America which works to help people in academic settings discover and fufill their vocation in Jesus Christ. Although the primary focus is on ministry with students, campus ministry also serves administrators, faculty, and staff.
Working in partnership with local congregations, we sponsor retreats, Bible Study, suppers, educational forums, worship, travel, and other activities. We seek to express God's grace in Jesus Christ in the university setting while being open to and tolerant to others. We cooperate with other recognized Christian, Jewish, and Muslim ministries on campus and are open to dialogue with other faiths.
LSM?
The Lutheran Student Movement (LSM) is a national network of college and university students from the Lutheran Church and other denominations. Through local, regional and national gatherings these students find relationships, spiritual growth, and a vehicle for sharing their hopes and concerns in the church and the world.
LSM was established in Baltimore at Towson University over twenty years ago. Today campus ministry serves students at many schools in the Baltimore area.
MALSM?
The Mid-Atlantic Lutheran Student Movement (MALSM) is our region of the national LSM. MALSM is led by a council of 13 members elected annually, and holds fall and spring retreats (open to any interested student). The Council meets several times a semester at different places in the region. MALSM is a great way to meet students from other universities!
Peer Ministry?
Peer Ministers are students who work with the Campus Pastors as assistants in ministry. Tasks included calling on new students, peer counseling, sending out publicity for events, office work, helping to organize campus ministry activities, involving students in community service projects, worship leadership and encouraging the spiritual growth of students. If you are interested in a Peer Ministry position, contact Pastor Tee for details or contact one of our current peer ministers.
