Morgan Outreach

Morgan Outreach Through Service
Lutheran Campus Ministry expanded our Morgan Outreach Coordinator position to full-time in August 2005 for a two-year period. Reggie Price works with Morgan students in a Service-Learning model of community service, funded through a generous Thrivent Grant. Working with urban Lutheran congregations we involve students in reflection and service at schools, churches and homeless shelters. In those relationships students will learn about the Lutheran Church.

We volunteer tutoring at Waverly Elementary School and other Lutheran congregations, feeding the homeless at South Baltimore Station and Helping Up Mission and work with the elderly at Esther’s Place.

      A Word From Reggie

"Greetings to everyone! I am the new campus ministry staff person at Morgan State University. I am blessed to have this opportunity to do outreach with Lutheran Campus Ministry. Our goal is to involve Morgan students in service projects helping elementary school children, the homeless and others in need. Our approach encourages civic engagement as we have an opportunity to know students in all stages of our service and learning: preparation, action, reflection, and evaluation/celebration. It is my hope that this ministry grows to be a blessing to all that come in contact with it, and that we find new leaders for the Lutheran Church. I ask for your prayers and support. And COME volunteer with us... there are opportunities most days!" -- Reggie Price
